How to create a professional resume with Axiom CV in under 5 minutes

TL;DR Version

Like everything else in life, writing a good resume depends on which context you find yourself in.

When applying in Germany for a job, you have to pay attention that your resume tells the how and has a clean template.

All the feedback I’ve gathered together with a popular template are implemented in Axiom where you can create a resume for 6.99 €.

Let’s start with the WHY

I’ve worked on my resume for years, ever since I finished college back in 2012. My strategy? Look for inspiration in friends’ resumes, ask my LinkedIn contacts for feedback and at some point I even asked a good friend of mine who is a Buddhist nun. While everyone provided positive feedback, the main idea was not to have any grammar mistakes and keep only the important stuff on.

At the end of 2025, I finally decided to look for a new job, and applied to 10 jobs in Munich where my profile matched above 80% (AI Engineer, more than 2 YOE, C1 German, etc). To my surprise I got no interviews. NONE.

I told myself that in today’s market that’s normal, but I don’t think it’s normal when your skills match the job description that well.

I finally decided to ask a good friend, who is a German native, for some feedback, being confident that I will get the same answer: the market is really bad and just keep sending those resumes.

Well to my surprise the feedback was honest: your resume looks bad and I don't understand what exactly you do at work!.

What? I’ve been working for years on my resume, it can NOT be that bad. I’ve even let ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini review it and they congratulated me and assured me that everything was fine.

Of course I could not believe the feedback and went to do some research on reddit. There are plenty of subreddits where people discuss such topics, but a popular one is r/Germany_Jobs

Here comes the main problem when applying in the German market: most people write their resume US style. Well there are different cultures, and German employers expect something else. It’s not personal, it’s just a fact.

What was wrong with my resume?

Let us start with what I do for work: software development (50%), consulting (30%) and project management (20%).

I will give just one example, to keep it short.

Having more than 8 YOE in PM, I’ve always measured KPIs such as: sales volume, team member efficiency, profitability, etc.

Of course I thought that every employer wants to know that I’ve increased profitability from single to double digits! Well they don’t. Not if you write it like that.

You might ask yourself: well why not?

Because it is too generic, you might be lying and you don’t tell the how.

Your resume is like a story you are telling, and people are curious about the how and not the what. My whole resume was filled with whats and no hows.

You might again ask yourself: aren’t we supposed to discuss these topics at the interview? If they are curious, they will ask me then. Well again, if you don’t get to the interview, no one will ask you anything.

Solution?

Why not quantify all this feedback into a product, which reliably improves any resume? I mean that is what the whole AI/LLM is all about.

So I gathered all the important feedback, and created a Multi Agentic System that does exactly that: makes sure your resume is built for the German market.

Conclusion

Having a good resume doesn’t guarantee you getting the job, but it’s the first impression and first impressions matter!
